January was a good reading month for me and a great start to kicking off the new year. I set my yearly reading goal at a total of 52 books through Goodreads– that’s one book a week! – and so far, so good.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I had just come back from a trip to Scotland when I started my re-read of Outlander- I guess you could say I was missing the beautiful country. Outlander is always a great read and was exactly what I was looking for at the time.
The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
Another re-read, I have been brushing up on all of The Witcher novels recently. I began playing The Witcher 3 on my Nintendo Switch and wanted a little refresher on the lore. The books are as great as ever!
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
This was a new read for my monthly book club. The Silent Patient is definitely different than the fantasy novels I usually read, but I enjoyed breaking out of my shell and devoured this book in one day.
The Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski
A fellow prequel to The Witcher series just as The Last Wish, this falls under my re-read of the series. These two prequels are great as they give you a little more of a backstory before beginning the main novels of the series.
There you have it, my January wrap-up! I definitely started off strong by sticking to my one-book-a-week goal this past month, and February is looking like it will be a good month for me too. Stay tuned for some book reviews on these January reads!
